Fortunately Nash Finds That The Esoteric Apple Does Not Fall Far From The Esoteric Tree! 'Meet The Masters!' Meets Lachlan & Declan Rambler!

As an esoteric father of six boys, I am often confronted with the very real challenge of keeping them well balanced between sports, video games, reading, socializing with friends and homework.

It will probably come as no surprise to my fellow esoteric; especially those who are parents; when I express my hopes that my progeny shares some of my esoteric tendencies.  In this day and age, the allure of the internet for the younger set is based around games, social networking, and the like.

However, I will say that the schools my boys attend are crackerjack when it comes to showcasing and teaching a well rounded curriculum.  I believe in balance, as I feel it makes Renaissance men & women out of all of us.  A much stronger base with a far richer patina!

Quite recently, in the waning days before the summer holidays, two of my younger brood, Lachlan and Declan came home with the results of a recent program at school entitled; ‘Meet The Masters!’  This is an introductory attempt at broadening their eager artistic minds!

The last two artists covered were John James Audubon and Pablo Picasso.  Although John James Audubon was not the first person to attempt to paint and describe all the birds of America, Alexander Wilson has that distinction, but for half a century Audubon was the young country’s dominant wildlife artist. His seminal Birds of America, a collection of 435 life-size prints, quickly eclipsed Wilson’s work and is still a standard against which 20th and 21st century bird artists, such as Roger Tory Peterson and David Sibley, are measured.

Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso known as Pablo Ruiz Picasso was a Spanish painter, draughtsman, and sculptor who lived most of his life in France. He is widely known for co-founding the Cubist movement and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore. Among his most famous works are the proto-Cubist Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907) and Guernica (1937), a portrayal of the German bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War. Picasso demonstrated extraordinary artistic talent in his early years, painting in a realistic manner through his childhood and adolescence; during the first decade of the 20th century his style changed as he experimented with different theories, techniques, and ideas. His revolutionary artistic accomplishments brought him universal renown and immense fortune, making him one of the best-known figures in 20th century art.

By far what I loved the most about the entire process of the ‘Meet The Masters’ experience for my children was the resulting artwork that my two budding young artists brought home….their endeavors were actually quite good.

If you will indulge me the pride of an esoteric father; I think you might agree!
