This past week, Maria Shriver filed for divorce from her husband of 25 years, Arnold Schwarzenegger. This, of course, doesn’t come to a shock of people following the two as of late, as many expected the longtime couple to split after he told her earlier this year that he had been unfaithful to her over 13 years ago when he fathered a son out of wedlock with his housekeeper. However, it is interesting to note that there are conflicting stories about how Shriver feels about her former housekeeper and the woman she once considered a friend, Mildred Baena, the mistress.
Hello Magazine stated last month that Shriver sat down and talked with Baena various times and eventually asked her if her child was the son of her husband — this, according to Baena’s side of the story — but according to a recent edition of Star Magazine, Shriver has apparently flipped around her feelings for Baena, saying that she has “absolutely no sympathy for that woman [Baena] at the moment,” according to a source close to the tabloid. She then told people in her inner circle that her “main concern is for [her] kids.”
In the interview with Hello, Baena said, “[Shriver] would say things like, ‘I’m here if you need to talk.’ I sensed something was up. I have so much love and respect for Maria.” She eventually revealed that Shriver asked her “point blank” if she had an affair with her husband. After she admitted that she did, Baena said that “she was so strong. She cried with me and told me to get off my knees. We held each other and I told her it wasn’t Arnie’s fault, that it takes two.” Shriver would then reportedly go to her husband and ask him if he fathered Baena’s child, a suspicion she long had. Schwarzenegger would then finally admit that he had been unfaithful to her.

As for Shriver and Schwarzenegger, her husband reportedly knew that his soon-to-be-ex-wife was going to be filing for papers to divorce him. He was seen the day afterward heading to lunch looking calm and collective. Shriver has since been contacted to write a tell-all book about her life and details about the falling-out of her marriage, which she has never talked about publicly. Radar Online reports that she could reportedly garner over $15 million for the book — which would surpass the former all-time advance record of $15 million held by President Bill Clinton for his memoir My Life — and that it could receive record-breaking sales.
