Mysterious Harry Potter Website Secret Revealed?

(LONDON) -- The Times of London may have accidentally discovered what Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling was hinting at when a mysterious website titled Pottermore sprang up online.

The paper claims it was erroneously sent details about the project -- it's apparently an interactive online game that will see Potter fans all over the world going on a treasure hunt for real buried wizard wands.

The website officially launches on Thursday.

The Times points out that, if true, Pottermore is a similar concept to Masquerade, a 1979 children's book that featured clues pinpointing the location of a real golden hare that was buried in the British countryside.

The paper states it's not yet clear whether the hunt "is Pottermore itself, or merely a marketing drive for another product."

Rowling has stated she will not write an eighth Harry Potter book. The last film in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, hits U.S. theaters July 15.
