A free summer beach shuttle that stops in Playa Vista, Marina del Rey and Venice Beach will resume service this Friday.
The bus funded by Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe and Playa Vista offers service to the marina's Waterside Shopping Center and Mother's Beach; the Venice pier; and seven Marina del Rey WaterBus shuttle stops, including those at Fisherman's Village and Burton Chace Park, home to the county's annual summer concert series.
The shuttle's operating hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays and holidays, and 5 to 10 p.m. for Thursday night classical concerts at the park (July 7 and 21 and Aug. 4 and 18).
The shuttle runs every 30 minutes, starting at 10:15 a.m. from Playa Vista. Expect a pause in service from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.
The buses, fueled by compressed natural gas, can accommodate bikes.
